Worker safety is an absolute priority. When activities are carried out in classified areas of third- party Companies, it is essential to ensure the hightest level of protection against the risks associated with ionizing radiation. In compliance with Legislative Decree No. 101/2020, LB Servizi, through his Radiation Protection Expert, provides preventive assesments, health surveillance and continuos monitoring, working in cooperation with the Operator to define dose limits and protective measures. A shared commitment to operating safety while reducing any potential interference risks.
LB Servizi Employee, in relation to activities to be carried out at Third-party Companies, shall be granted access to the classified areas of such Companies within the scope of the contract entered into. In accordance with Article 112, paragraph 1, letters (a) and (m) of Legislative Decree No. 101/2020, the Radiation Protection Expert appointed by LB Servizi shall obtain from the Operator of the classified areas information regarding the risks arising from exposure to ionizing radiation present in the classified area in which the external LB Servizi Worker will be required to operate, for the purpose of performing a preliminary assessment. Furthermore, in compliance with Article 112, paragraph 1, letter (l) of Legislative Decree No. 101/2020, the Radiation Protection Expert shall define, in coordination with the Operator of the classified areas, the dose constraint to be adopted in relation to the activities to be performed under the contract. Considering the radiological risk associated with the activities carried out on behalf of LB Servizi at Third-party Companies, and based on the assessments performed by the Radiation Protection Expert pursuant to Annex XXII of Legislative Decree No. 101/2020, as amended and supplemented, the LB Servizi Workers operating in classified areas of third-party Companies are classified as Category A Exposed Workers, in accordance with Legislative Decree No. 101/2020, as amended and supplemented.
The Employer of LB Servizi shall ensure comppliance with training obligations in accordance with Articles 110 and 111 of Legislative Decree No. 101/2020, as amended. The documentation evidencing the training shall be retained at LB Servizi, and a copy shall be provided to the Third-party Company.
The Employer of LB Servizi ensures that the appointed Radiation Protection Expert carries out the periodic assessment of the individual dose of Workers exposed to risks arising from ionizing radiation and that the related records are entered in the personal dosimetric records, in compliance with Article 132 of Legislative Decree No. 101/2020, as amended and supplemented.
The Employer of LB Servizi ensures that Exposed Workers are provided with the health surveillance required under Article 134 of Legislative Decree No. 101/2020, as amended and supplemented, ensuring that the related fitness-for-work assessments are recorded in the individual health record, pursuant to Article 140. In accordance with Article 113, paragraph 2, letter (a) of Legislative Decree No. 101/2020, the Employer shall ensure that a copy of such assessments is delivered to the Third-party Company for which LB Servizi is operating under the relevant contract, updating them in the event of any changes. The monitoring of the individual exposure of LB Servizi’s external Workers shall be carried out by the Third-party Company itself, through the assignment of personal whole-body TLD dosimeters for X-gamma radiation, with a monthly reading frequency. In the case of activities involving specific risks of internal contamination, additional monitoring may be arranged. LB Servizi Workers shall also be provided by the undersigned Company with protective equipment appropriate to the activities to be performed.
During the period of activity at the Third-party Company, the personal radiation protection logbook for each external Worker shall be kept available to the Operator of the Classified Area, duly completed and updated in accordance with the applicable legislation. In compliance with Article 26, paragraph 3 of Legislative Decree No. 81/2008 and Article 112, paragraph 1, letter (n) of Legislative Decree No. 101/2020, LB Servizi shall cooperate with the Operator of the classified areas of the Third-party Company in the implementation of radiation protection measures and preventive actions against the risks to which external Workers are exposed, exchanging the necessary information, also with the aim of eliminating any risks arising from interference between the activities of the different Companies involved in the execution of the overall activity.
